ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for delivering key infrastructure projects in the nation’s capital, describing him as “Mr Project” during the inauguration of a newly completed access road to communities around the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the commissioning ceremony on Thursday, Tinubu praised Wike for completing the seven-kilometre road, saying the project fulfilled a longstanding promise made to residents affected by the construction of the airport’s second runway.

The president noted that the road would significantly improve connectivity, ease transportation challenges, and enhance economic activities in the affected communities.

“You are indeed Mr Project. You have not disappointed Nigerians. This road is a testament to the commitment of the Federal Government to improving infrastructure and ensuring that communities impacted by development projects are not left behind,” Tinubu said through Akpabio.

He emphasized that infrastructure development remains a key priority of his administration, adding that strategic road projects across the country are aimed at boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life of citizens.

Speaking at the event, Wike said the project was part of the FCT Administration’s commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure that directly benefits residents. He noted that the road would open up the area for development and improve access for communities that had long faced mobility challenges.

The minister reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through the provision of critical infrastructure across the Federal Capital Territory.

Residents and community leaders who attended the inauguration expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the FCT Administration for completing the road project, describing it as a major relief for people living in the area.

The newly commissioned road is among several infrastructure projects being inaugurated in the FCT as part of activities marking the second anniversary of the Tinubu administration.
