Benin City – Deeper Life High School (DLHS), Benin City Campus, has recorded an outstanding performance in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), producing two of the highest-scoring students among all Deeper Life High School campuses nationwide.
Master Umukoro Oghenevovwero Gift emerged as the highest-scoring student in the Deeper Life High School network with an impressive score of 367, ranking as the ninth highest scorer in Nigeria. Closely behind him was Master Agbonmamwen Odibosa Adriel, who scored 363 to emerge the second-best performer among all DLHS campuses.
The exceptional students attributed their remarkable success to God, the unwavering support of their parents, and the dedication of their teachers. They also credited disciplined study habits, consistency, determination, and self-belief for their outstanding performance.
Sharing his experience, Umukoro revealed that he devoted at least seven hours daily to studying but stressed that effective learning is driven more by focus than by the number of hours spent reading.
“As a science student, I studied consistently with a clear understanding of my goals and dreams. I remained disciplined, paid close attention to details, and refused to be discouraged,” he said.
Agbonmamwen, on his part, praised the school for providing the right academic and moral foundation that shaped their success. He described the institution as a guardian that continually guides students toward excellence.
“The school has consistently lived up to its motto, Leadership with Distinction. The standard here remains high, with equal emphasis on moral values and academic excellence. We are truly fortunate to be students of Deeper Life High School,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to the Proprietor and Founder of the institution, Pastor (Dr.) William Folorunso Kumuyi, for his commitment to mentoring and nurturing students to become responsible leaders.
Speaking on the achievement, the school’s JAMB Coordinator, Mr. Charles Sule, explained that students with exceptional academic potential were identified early and placed in special competition classes, where experienced teachers closely monitored and mentored them.
According to him, the students’ dedication and cooperation with the programme significantly contributed to the impressive results.
The Principal of Deeper Life High School, Benin City Campus, Mrs. Comfort James, described the achievement as the product of years of maintaining high academic standards and holistic student development.
She encouraged students to remain focused on their academic goals while urging parents to continue supporting their children’s education.
Mrs. James noted that the institution admits students only at the Junior Secondary School level and nurtures them through a six-year programme designed to produce academically excellent and morally sound graduates.
She described Deeper Life High School as a mission-owned, co-educational, full-boarding institution committed to delivering quality education built on discipline, character, and academic excellence.
Located along Upper Ekenwan Road, Ugbighoko Quarters, Benin City, the campus continues to distinguish itself as a faith-based institution dedicated to raising future leaders through sound moral values, quality teaching, and enriching co-curricular activities.
“Our campus is a testimony to discipline, morality, and scholastic excellence. Through our academic and co-curricular programmes, we empower students to discover and develop their creative potential, preparing them to become positive change agents in the global community,” Mrs. James said.
