The Senator representing Delta Central, Ede Dafinone, has called on newly inaugurated leaders of the Okpe, Sapele, and Uvwie (OSU) Federal Constituency Political Forum, Uvwie Chapter, to begin immediate grassroots mobilisation in support of Bola Tinubu and Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dafinone made the call during the inauguration ceremony held at Alegbo Primary School in Uvwie Local Government Area. He expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is well-positioned to win future elections, pointing to ongoing economic reforms under Tinubu’s administration as signs of strong and purposeful leadership.
According to the senator, the current administration inherited a struggling economy but has taken bold steps to stabilise it. He highlighted key policies such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the exchange rate, noting that these measures have reduced systemic inefficiencies and set the country on a path to recovery. He described President Tinubu as one of the most prepared leaders Nigeria has ever elected.
At the state level, Dafinone praised Governor Oborevwori for what he described as visible developmental strides across Delta State. He argued that the governor’s performance justifies another term in office and urged party members to stay united in advancing the administration’s “M.O.R.E Agenda” at the grassroots.
The lawmaker also commended Solomon Ighrakpata, the National Coordinator of the OSU Forum, for his efforts in fostering unity and promoting inclusiveness within the constituency.
During the event, Ighrakpata formally inaugurated the Uvwie Chapter executives, led by Anthony Ofoni, and charged them with the responsibility of delivering strong electoral support for both Tinubu and Oborevwori in 2027.
In his acceptance speech, Ofoni assured stakeholders of an inclusive and results-oriented leadership, pledging that his team would mobilise support across all wards in Uvwie to secure victory for the President and the Governor.
The ceremony drew notable political figures, including Efe Uko, Kingsley Esiso, Edafe Emakpor, James Augoye, Perkins Umukoro, and Evelyn Oboro, alongside youth groups and other stakeholders.
