The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, led a high-powered delegation of Honourable Members, including the Deputy Speaker, Rt.Hon. Atu Osamwonyi; Majority Leader, Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu; Hon. Donald Okogbe; Hon. Adeh Isibor; Hon. Andrew Uzamere; and Hon. Eric Okaka, on a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman, DIG Parry Benjamin Osemwengie Osayande (Rtd.).

Receiving the delegation, Mr. Osato Osayande, son of the late elder statesman, expressed profound gratitude to the Speaker and Honourable Members for honouring his father’s memory. He commended their recognition of his father’s contributions as one of the key builders of Edo State, particularly through his commitment to human capital development and community service.

He thanked the delegation for their presence and thoughtful involvement in celebrating his father’s legacy.

In his address, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku conveyed the Assembly’s deepest condolences to the Osayande family, noting that the visit was to demonstrate the House’s solidarity and support during this time of loss.

The Speaker fondly recalled his admiration for the late DIG Parry Osayande, describing him as “a man of great discipline and dignity.” He added that the late elder statesman’s love for golf helped him maintain an active body and mind.

Rt. Hon. Agbebaku further assured the family that the Edo State House of Assembly would be fully involved in the burial activities of the late DIG Osayande and would continue to provide any necessary support to the family throughout the mourning period.
