Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has reportedly survived an assassination attempt in the early hours of the morning, coming just days after he delivered a life sentence to Nnamdi Kanu.
According to reports, the judge was rushed to a hospital while security operatives moved quickly to cordon off the scene and restore order.
“This is an outrage. A judge cannot be silenced for simply doing his job,” a source close to the incident said.
Another insider expressed concern over the broader implications, warning, “If justice is under attack, then the very foundation of law is being threatened.”
The alleged attack has further heightened tensions following the controversial conviction. As of now, details remain unclear, and authorities are yet to confirm the identity of the attackers or whether any suspects have been detained.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
