Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has brought relief and joy to party members and families in Ughelli South Local Government Area with a ₦2.5 million donation to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) Christmas food basket initiative.

The donation, made ahead of the Yuletide, is targeted at assisting party members and vulnerable residents to celebrate Christmas despite prevailing economic challenges.

The funds were formally presented to APC leaders in Ughelli South as part of preparations for the festive season.

Speaking during the presentation, Izeze said Christmas symbolises love, compassion and shared joy, noting that the season calls for practical support, especially at the grassroots level.

He explained that the gesture was meant to ensure that families could celebrate the season with dignity and a strong sense of belonging.

The Commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the opportunity to serve Deltans, describing the platform as one that enables him to positively impact lives beyond the scope of governance.

He also commended the APC leadership in Ughelli South for consistently prioritising the welfare of members, stressing that such initiatives help to strengthen unity and cohesion within the party.

In his response, Chairman of APC Ughelli South Chapter, Sir Isaiah Kekeje, thanked Izeze for what he described as a timely and thoughtful intervention.

He said the donation would significantly ease the festive burden on members and their families, assuring that the rice would be fairly distributed to reach those most in need across the local government area.

The APC Ughelli South Christmas food basket initiative is an annual programme aimed at spreading goodwill, reinforcing community bonds and ensuring that no member is left out of the joy of the Christmas season.
