A Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State, has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to make arrangements for the conduct of elections into Ughelli South Constituencies I and II of the Delta State House of Assembly within 14 days.
The order was issued on Monday by Justice H. A. Nganjiwa in a judgment delivered at the Federal High Court in Warri.
In the ruling, the court directed INEC to take the necessary steps to conduct elections in the two state assembly constituencies within the stipulated 14-day period.
The judgment is expected to pave the way for the long-awaited electoral process in Ughelli South Constituencies I and II, with stakeholders now awaiting the commission’s response and compliance with the court’s directive.
Further details of the judgment are expected to emerge.
