Abuja — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday swore in the Chairman and Commissioners of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, urging them to uphold fairness, equity, and national unity in the discharge of their duties.
At the ceremony, President Tinubu congratulated the newly appointed Chairman of the Commission, Mrs. Hulayat Omidiran, shortly after administering the oath of office to her and the commissioners.

The inauguration formally marked the commencement of their tenure, with the President emphasising the critical role of the FCC in ensuring equitable representation of Nigeria’s diverse groups in federal appointments and institutions.
Photographs from the event showed President Tinubu exchanging pleasantries with the FCC Chairman, as well as commissioners taking their oaths during the swearing-in ceremony.

The Federal Character Commission is constitutionally mandated to promote inclusiveness and prevent the domination of public institutions by individuals from a few states or ethnic groups.
The event was attended by top government officials and aides at the Presidential Villa.
