The Delta State House of Assembly has passed the 2025 Supplementary Appropriation Bill (HB. 44), following deliberations at plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.

Speaking after the passage of the bill, the Speaker commended members of the House for their robust contributions and the swift approval of the supplementary budget, describing it as critical to sustaining the pace of development across the state.

According to him, the supplementary appropriation is aimed at addressing emerging financial needs and ensuring the continuous implementation of key government programmes.

In a related development, Rt. Hon. Guwor also received the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Aina Adesola, during a courtesy visit to his office.

The Speaker said the visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions and underscored the importance of strong collaboration between the legislature and security agencies in promoting peace, safety, and good governance.

“Such routine engagements are vital for the progress of our state and the nation at large,” Guwor said.

He formally welcomed CP Adesola to Delta State and wished him success in the discharge of his duties, expressing confidence that the partnership between the State Assembly and the Police Command would further enhance security and stability in the state.
