The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly traced several high-value real estate assets in Egypt to former Kaduna State governor Nasir el-Rufai.

According to a report by TheCable, the properties were uncovered during an ongoing investigation by the anti-corruption agency into el-Rufai’s tenure as governor of Kaduna State.

The publication reported that the assets consist of three villas and six apartments located in upscale residential districts in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

Sources familiar with the probe told the outlet that the properties are situated in high-end estates, including Arabilla Estate and Banafsik Estate, both located in New Cairo, an affluent district on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital.

Checks cited by TheCable indicate that villas in the two estates typically sell for between $1 million and $1.3 million, highlighting the significant value of the properties allegedly linked to the former governor.

The ICPC has not yet issued an official public statement detailing the findings of the investigation. However, the discovery of the properties is said to be part of a broader probe examining financial activities during el-Rufai’s administration in Kaduna State.

Further developments are expected as the anti-corruption agency continues its investigation.
