Political analyst James Victor has stated that many residents of Delta Central Senatorial District have rejected the recent second-term declaration held in Ughelli in support of Senator Ede Dafinone, describing the event as unrepresentative of the broader sentiment across the district.
According to Victor, the gathering is widely viewed by critics as a staged political exercise that does not reflect the position of the Urhobo people. He noted that constituents are increasingly focused on tangible outcomes, raising concerns about the perceived lack of visible projects, economic impact, and grassroots engagement under the current representation.
He emphasized that voters in Delta Central are demanding practical results over political rhetoric, stressing that leadership should be measured by clear achievements and meaningful development rather than public declarations.
Victor contrasted this dissatisfaction with growing support in some quarters for former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, whom he described as a leader with a demonstrable track record in empowerment initiatives and infrastructure development. According to him, Omo-Agege’s past performance continues to resonate with constituents seeking experienced and results-driven representation.
He concluded that the prevailing sentiment in Delta Central reflects a broader call for credibility, capacity, and proven leadership, as the district looks ahead to future political decisions.
