Rewritten Report:
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has stated that Nigeria’s next president for the 2027 general elections has already been determined by divine will.
Speaking during a workers’ meeting at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Adeboye emphasized that the outcome of the election ultimately rests in God’s hands and goes beyond human control.
According to him, while citizens can participate in the political process, the final decision lies with God. He urged Nigerians not to be anxious about the country’s political future, stressing that God remains sovereign over national affairs.
Adeboye clarified that his message does not discourage political participation but highlights the importance of faith alongside civic responsibility. He encouraged Nigerians to remain prayerful, peaceful, and hopeful as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
The cleric also addressed remarks by activist Omoyele Sowore, who reportedly described him, David Oyedepo, and William Kumuyi as “fathers of Christians in Nigeria.”
Rejecting the label, Adeboye said he does not see himself as a spiritual leader of all Christians in the country. Instead, he maintained that his responsibility is limited to his denomination, adding that national Christian leadership is represented by the Christian Association of Nigeria and its president.
He further dismissed claims circulating on social media that the RCCG is affiliated with the ruling All Progressives Congress, insisting that the church remains independent and has consistently spoken out on national issues, including economic challenges facing citizens.
