Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has congratulated Pastor Dr. Andrew Osagie and Prof. Mrs. Idia Ize-Iyamu on the occasion of their birthday anniversary, describing them as distinguished Nigerians whose lives and contributions have positively impacted society.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, the governor praised the couple for their commitment to faith, service, and national development.
Okpebholo noted that Pastor Osagie and Prof. Ize-Iyamu have lived purposeful lives marked by dedication to God, hard work, and selfless service to humanity.
“You have both lived purposefully — grounded in faith, disciplined by hard work, and moved by genuine service to God and to people. The mark you have made, individually and together, is one that Edo State will not soon forget,” the governor said.
He further commended the couple’s enduring commitment to community development and the wellbeing of others, describing their legacy as one built steadily over the years through consistent service and devotion.
The governor paid special tribute to Prof. Mrs. Idia Ize-Iyamu for her accomplishments in academia and her efforts toward empowering women and young Nigerians.
“Your commitment to the things of God, to community, and to the wellbeing of those around you is a record that speaks without embellishment. It was built steadily, over many years, and it endures,” he stated.
Speaking on Prof. Ize-Iyamu’s contributions, Okpebholo added: “You have shown that excellence and compassion are not in conflict.”
The governor prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the celebrants, wishing them sound health, renewed strength, and many more years of fulfillment and service.
“As you both mark this day, I pray that God rewards your years of service with sound health, renewed strength, and many more seasons of fulfilment. May your home continue to be a place of purpose, peace, and divine grace,” he said.
