Monday Okpebholo on Wednesday led a delegation of political leaders and dignitaries to celebrate former Edo State governor, Lucky Igbinedion, on the occasion of his 69th birthday.
The governor and members of his entourage visited the residence of the former governor, where they were warmly received by Igbinedion and his wife, Eki Igbinedion.
Governor Okpebholo exchanged pleasantries with the celebrant before proceeding into the reception hall, where several dignitaries had gathered to honour the former governor.
Among those present at the celebration were Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, Sylvester Aigboboh; Edo State representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Patrick Aisowieren; and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tom Ikimi, among others.
Lucky Igbinedion served as governor of Edo State from 1999 to 2007, emerging as the first civilian governor of the state in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
He also served as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, where he worked alongside other state governors on issues relating to national development and governance.
