Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Owan West Constituency ahead of the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election.

Agbebaku, in an appreciation message issued after the party’s primary election on Tuesday, expressed gratitude to God, the leadership of the APC, and party faithful in Owan West for the confidence reposed in him.

He described the overwhelming support, unity, and turnout recorded during the primary election as a strong indication of the party’s collective commitment to the progress and development of Owan West.

“I sincerely thank the leadership and faithful members of APC in Owan West for the overwhelming support, unity, solidarity, and massive turnout witnessed during the primary election process,” he said.

The Speaker also appreciated key party leaders and stakeholders for their roles in his emergence as the party’s flagbearer.

He specially acknowledged High Chief Lucky Ohimai (Tarex) for his leadership and commitment to the unity and growth of the APC in Owan West.

Agbebaku further expressed gratitude to former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Chief Peter Obadan, for his guidance and support towards the advancement of the constituency and the party.

He also commended the APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Frank David, ward executives, stakeholders, youths, women groups, and party supporters for their sacrifices and contributions to the success of the primary election.

The Speaker extended appreciation to the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his leadership and commitment to party unity, internal democracy, peace, and stability across the state.

According to him, the victory belongs to the people of Owan West, pledging to remain committed to effective representation, purposeful leadership, and the delivery of democratic dividends to constituents.

Agbebaku added that efforts would continue towards building a stronger, united, and more prosperous Owan West.
