The Edo State Government has announced the nomination of Hon. Dr. Washington Osa Osifo as a Commissioner-Designate, following approval by Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., the government described Osifo as an accomplished lawyer, administrator, and politician with extensive experience in public service and governance.
According to the statement, Osifo holds academic qualifications in Law, Political Science and Public Administration, as well as Comparative Politics and Development. He has also previously served Edo State in various capacities as a commissioner at different times.
The government noted that Osifo is widely recognised for his contributions to community development, good governance, and political leadership across the state.
His nomination, the statement added, will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation in line with constitutional provisions.
