Police in London have launched an urgent manhunt for 25-year-old prisoner Temitope Segun after he escaped from custodial transport in the Plumstead area of South East London.
Segun was last seen near Woolwich High Street at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Monday, June 8. Investigators believe he has links to several South East London communities, including Plumstead, Abbey Wood and Woolwich.
At the time of his escape, he was reportedly wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers.
Authorities have advised members of the public not to approach Segun if he is spotted. Instead, anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts is urged to call emergency services immediately by dialling 999.
Detective Sergeant Claudine Manning, who is leading the investigation, said officers are working tirelessly to locate and apprehend the fugitive.
“My team of dedicated officers are working around the clock to trace and apprehend Temitope Segun. It is imperative that the public contact police via 999 if they see him or know where he may be,” Manning said.
“He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers and has links across South London.”
The search remains ongoing as police intensify efforts to track down the escaped prisoner.
