Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of residents across the state.

The governor made this known on Friday while receiving the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, alongside senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force at Government House in Benin City.

Okpebholo congratulated the IGP on his appointment, describing it as well-deserved, and assured him of the Edo State Government’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the Police in tackling security challenges and sustaining peace in the state.

According to the governor, security remains the foundation for sustainable development and economic growth, stressing that his administration will continue to support proactive policing, intelligence gathering, and coordinated security operations across Edo State.

“We will continue to deepen our partnership with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and proactive security operations across Edo State,” he said.

Governor Okpebholo also commended officers and men of the Police Force for their sacrifices and dedication to protecting lives and property, noting that the state government remains unwavering in its support for efforts aimed at building a more secure, peaceful, and prosperous Edo State.

The visit by the IGP and senior police officers is seen as part of ongoing engagements to strengthen security collaboration between the federal security architecture and state governments across the country.
