ABUJA — Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has criticised former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi questioning his political consistency and credibility.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television monitored on Sunday, Oshiomhole alleged that Peter Obi  lacks a stable political ideology and is driven by political convenience.

According to the former governor, Obi’s political trajectory demonstrates a pattern of aligning with platforms that offer the best opportunity for advancement rather than long-term commitment to a particular political movement.

“You cannot take him by his word,” Oshiomhole said during the interview, arguing that the former Anambra State governor has frequently changed political affiliations over the years.

The senator further claimed that Obi’s political decisions are motivated by circumstances that favour his ambitions, likening his approach to seeking “where the food is ready.”

Oshiomhole’s comments come amid ongoing political realignments and discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections, with major political parties and opposition figures positioning themselves for future contests.

Peter Obi, a leading opposition figure and former presidential candidate, has remained influential in national political discourse since the 2023 elections, often commenting on governance, economic policy and national development issues.

As of the time of filing this report, Obi had not publicly responded to Oshiomhole’s remarks.
