Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has commended the Edo State Police Command for the swift rescue of Mrs. Precious Ofure, who was abducted on Sunday at the popular Vegetable Market along Airport Road in Benin City.
The senator described the prompt intervention by the police as a clear demonstration of the Command’s commitment to combating insecurity and safeguarding lives and property across Edo State.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Media Aide, Moshood Karim, Imasuen praised the Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, and officers involved in the operation for their professionalism, courage, and rapid response, which led to the victim’s successful rescue shortly after the incident.
According to the lawmaker, the operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven policing and the importance of timely action in addressing security challenges.
“The immediate rescue of the abducted woman is highly commendable and reassuring. It sends a strong message that criminal elements will find no safe haven in Edo State,” Imasuen stated.
He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could assist in preventing crime and tracking down perpetrators.
The senator also reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture, emphasizing that the protection of citizens must remain a priority for all stakeholders.
Imasuen further encouraged the police command to sustain its efforts in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes, noting that public trust in law enforcement is strengthened when security agencies deliver swift and effective results.
