Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Mr. Sunday “Sunny” Kpikpi Kotor, popularly known as “Ilewheri,” describing him as a dedicated community advocate, loyal friend, and tireless champion of development in Okwagbe Community and the wider Ughelli South area.

In an emotional reflection titled “A Missive to Ayonder,” Izeze recounted a friendship that spanned decades, rooted in family connections, shared experiences, and a common passion for community progress.

The commissioner praised Kotor’s unwavering commitment to the advancement of Okwagbe Community, noting that he devoted much of his life to advocating for critical development projects, including road infrastructure, educational facilities, and other essential social amenities.

According to Izeze, the late community leader consistently pushed for the extension of government road projects to Okwagbe and remained steadfast in ensuring that the needs of the community were reflected in development plans.

He noted that many of the initiatives Kotor passionately championed are now taking shape, including ongoing internal road construction projects and interventions in public institutions across the community.

Describing Kotor as a man whose love for Okwagbe Community, Ukpedi Sub-Clan, Ughievwen Kingdom, and the Urhobo Nation never wavered, Izeze said his legacy of service, dedication, and selflessness would continue to inspire generations to come.

The commissioner also acknowledged Kotor’s deep commitment to family, commending his siblings and children for upholding the values and ideals he cherished throughout his lifetime.

“Your love for Okwagbe Community, Ukpedi Sub-Clan, Ughievwen Kingdom and Urhobo Land is a worthy legacy that your children will be proud to uphold,” Izeze wrote.

He concluded the tribute with prayers for the peaceful repose of Kotor’s soul, celebrating a life marked by friendship, service, and an enduring commitment to community development.
