Abuja – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of former House of Representatives spokesman, Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).
The appointment was announced in a statement on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Namdas succeeds Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned from the position to pursue an elective office in his home state.
Namdas, a former lawmaker who represented Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, served as spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. He also contested in the recently concluded governorship primary election in Adamawa State.
Before joining partisan politics, Namdas built a career in journalism and public relations, serving as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna.
In a related development, President Tinubu appointed former Edo State lawmaker and ex-member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).
Obahiagbon takes over from Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in Edo State.
The President also reappointed Mr. Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services of the NDPHC.
According to the Presidency, Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, returns to the position after stepping down earlier to pursue his political ambition in his state.
The statement added that all the appointments take immediate effect.
