The Gabriel Sunano Foundation has praised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the peaceful and successful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries across the state, describing the exercise as a clear demonstration of transparency, political maturity and democratic leadership.
In a statement issued in Sapele, Delta State, the Foundation commended Governor Oborevwori for ensuring a free, fair and credible primary election process that enabled party members and delegates to exercise their voting rights without intimidation, harassment or violence.
According to the Foundation, the orderly and peaceful atmosphere that characterized the primaries has further strengthened unity within the APC in Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Foundation noted that the conduct of the exercise reflects the commitment of the party leadership to deepening internal democracy and encouraging inclusive political participation across the state.
The Foundation also congratulated Senator Ede Dafinone on his emergence as the APC Senatorial candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, describing his victory as a reflection of the confidence and trust party members have in his leadership abilities.
Similarly, it extended congratulations to Hon. Ramson Onoyake, who emerged as the APC House of Representatives candidate for the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency, as well as Perkins Umukoro, who secured the party’s ticket for the Sapele State House of Assembly seat.
The Gabriel Sunano Foundation expressed confidence that the candidates who emerged from the primaries possess the experience, competence and leadership capacity needed to effectively represent the interests of the people and contribute meaningfully to the development of Delta State.
The Foundation further called on all aspirants, party leaders and supporters to remain united and work collectively toward ensuring victory for the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
It emphasized that politics should continue to serve as a platform for service, development and empowerment of the people, stressing that peaceful democratic processes remain vital for sustainable growth, stability and good governance.
The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to community development, youth empowerment, education and social welfare initiatives, particularly among vulnerable groups in Delta State, while encouraging political leaders to continue promoting peace, inclusiveness and responsible leadership across the state.
