ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals to serve on the boards and management of 10 federal government agencies and commissions as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across key public institutions.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Among the prominent appointments is former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who has been named Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), the federal agency responsible for expanding electricity access to underserved and rural communities across Nigeria.
According to the presidency, the appointments are aimed at repositioning the affected agencies to deliver more effectively on their statutory mandates and support the administration’s development agenda.
The newly appointed officials are expected to provide strategic leadership, strengthen institutional performance, and enhance the implementation of government policies in their respective agencies.
The full list of the 26 appointees, covering 10 federal agencies and commissions, was released by the Presidency, with all appointments taking immediate effect.
