The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Central Naval Command (CNC) of the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, has led the Command’s Third Quarter Command Meeting, with a focus on strengthening operational coordination and consolidating gains recorded in the fight against crude oil theft and other maritime crimes.
The two-day meeting, which commenced on Thursday, September 10, 2026, brought together District Staff Officers, Fleet Support Groups, Warri, and heads of units under the Central Naval Command.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Command to review its operational activities, administrative performance, training, logistics, achievements and challenges, while identifying practical measures to improve efficiency and strengthen maritime security.
Addressing participants, Rear Admiral Ibrahim highlighted the progress recorded through sustained operations against crude oil theft and other forms of maritime criminality, particularly under Operation Delta Sentinel.
According to the FOC, the operation has contributed to improved security within the maritime environment and supported increased crude oil production.
He commended officers and ratings of the Command for their dedication, resilience and commitment to duty, urging them to sustain the momentum in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Rear Admiral Ibrahim further charged personnel to remain committed to the leadership vision and command ethos of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, while ensuring that the Nigerian Navy remains professional, motivated and operationally ready.
The Command Meeting was therefore aimed at strengthening coordination among units, addressing identified operational challenges and enhancing the effectiveness of the Nigerian Navy’s efforts to safeguard the nation’s maritime domain.
