Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to give his estranged wife and Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, space to recover amid their lingering marital crisis.
Nwoko made the appeal in a statement shared on his social media page on Monday, expressing concern over the actress’ well-being and the circulation of what he described as false and disturbing reports about her health and personal life.
The lawmaker said his appeal was motivated not only by concern for Daniels but also by the welfare of their children, whom he said deserved to see their mother receive love, support and the opportunity to recover.
“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he said.
He added that the actress had faced difficulties that many people might not fully understand, urging the public to show compassion instead of passing judgment or making hurtful comments.
According to Nwoko, despite the challenges in their relationship, Daniels’ well-being has remained a major concern to him.
“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain,” he stated.
The senator also expressed concern over the spread of fabricated death announcements, misleading reports and other unverified claims about the actress, describing such publications as harmful rather than harmless social media engagement.
He warned that individuals deliberately spreading false information about Daniels, particularly concerning her death, health and personal circumstances, could face legal consequences.
“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances,” Nwoko warned.
He urged members of the public and social media users to exercise restraint, respect the actress’ privacy and avoid sharing unverified information about her as she navigates the challenges surrounding her personal life.
