ABUJA — Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his conferment with the Christian Icon Award by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Dafinone described the honour as a recognition of the governor’s exemplary leadership, humility, commitment to public service and dedication to Christian values.
The award was presented during CAN’s 50th anniversary celebration at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.
In a congratulatory statement, the senator said the recognition by Nigeria’s foremost Christian body was a source of pride to Delta State and the Urhobo people, noting that Oborevwori’s leadership had continued to attract recognition beyond the state.
He particularly commended the governor’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, inclusive governance and the pursuit of the collective aspirations of the people.
According to Dafinone, the honour reflects the values of faith, integrity, compassion and service to humanity, which he said are essential to responsible and people-oriented leadership.

He added that such recognition comes with greater responsibility to remain committed to the service of God and humanity.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District, I heartily felicitate with Your Excellency on this well-deserved honour,” Dafinone said.
