Outgoing Head of Service expresses joy over governor’s decision, says additional salary will boost workers’ morale and improve service delivery.
The outgoing Head of Service of Delta State, Dr Mininim Oseji, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for signing the 13th-month salary bill into law, describing the development as a welcome gesture that will improve workers’ morale and productivity.
Oseji expressed delight that the governor’s action had been completed before her retirement from the state public service, as she bows out of service today.
The outgoing Head of Service recalled the excitement among civil servants when Oborevwori announced the initiative some months ago, noting that the decision had generated positive reactions among government employees across the state.
She said the signing of the bill into law demonstrated the state government’s commitment to workers’ welfare and recognition of their contributions to governance and public service delivery.
According to her, the additional salary would serve as an incentive for civil servants to remain committed to their duties, improve productivity and deliver better services to the people of Delta State.
Oseji’s commendation comes as she prepares to conclude her tenure in the state public service, with the enactment of the 13th-month salary legislation emerging as a significant development during her final days in office.
The measure is expected to strengthen workers’ motivation and reinforce the importance of staff welfare in building an efficient and responsive public service.
The development also underscores the role of government policies aimed at improving employees’ welfare as part of broader efforts to enhance performance and service delivery across the state.
