Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Chief) Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku has mourned the passing of the former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, who according to reports, died at an Abuja hospital.
Rt Hon Agbebaku described the late former Inspector General as one of the Owan Nation’s greatest, finest, and brightest achievers.
In his words ” It is with great shock and sadness that the news of the sad passing of our great leader, brother and Owan son, former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.”
” I am devastated by his demise and it is indeed a black Sunday for the Owan Nation.”
” I pray for the soul to find eternal rest in God’s bosom, while God comforts the wife, children, family in particular, and the Owan Nation in general, which he served while in active service and retirement “.
Late IGP Arase was appointed the 18th Inspector General of Police by former President Goodluck Jonathan, and retired in 2016, after which he served as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
He has also served the Nation in various National and international positions.
The Speaker restated that the Owan Nation is mourning and prayed for God’s comfort.
