Three Private Schools Shots down and Licenses Revoked in Delta

Three unregistered private schools have been shot down and their operational licenses revoked in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta state.

The Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, made this known to Journalists in Asaba shortly after the routine monitoring of public and private schools across the state, Thursday.

 

He listed the affected schools to include; Prime Seed of Abraham School, Mater Christi Group of Schools; Shekinah the King, Nursery and Primary, all in Okwe, shutdown for operating without approval and licenses.

 

He also added that ‘All to Jesus Nursery and Primary School’, Oduke-Okwe, St Helen Fountain of Roses School, Okwe and Winners Vineyard Montessori International School, Okwe, Asaba operational licenses were sanctioned with withdrawal of operational licenses for using the school premises as residential apartments and other unacceptable offences.

 

According to the Commissioner, there had been warning to owners of private schools on the need to regularise their schools with the state Government.

 

He added that “as a state government, we prioritise the educational well-being of our children. It is on this premise that we have warned on several occasions for owners of schools to regularise the operation of their schools.

 

“Today, while on our routine monitoring exercises, we saw some schools even bearing “Government Approved”, but when we demanded for their license,there was none.

 

For clarity sake, Prime Seed of Abraham School, Okwe, Mater Christi Group of Schools,Oduke, Okwe, and Shekinah the King, Nursery and Primary, School,Oduke, Okwe have been shutdown for operating without approval and licenses.

 

“Also, we have withdrawn the operational licenses of All to Jesus Nursery and Primary School, Oduke-Okwe, St Helen Fountain of Roses School,Okwe and Winners Vineyard Montessori International School, Okwe, Asaba for operating as secondary schools with facilities approved for primary school while the former also uses the school premises as residential apartments.
