It’s was all pink, green and gold sparkles as we joined the world in celebrating the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child themed “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis”.
We spent the evening appreciating our being while enriching our hearts with inspiration stories and poem our delectable Yakubu Oyiza Hope, Yusuf Muyibat, Kween Neemah, Khariat Omar , Funke Akpoti amongst others.
While it was quite an impromptu event upon the hint of my big sister Yemi Adamolekun of Enough is Enough, Ms. Oluchi Nwosu suggested we have such a gathering periodically because girls need a safe space to share, heal, support and mentor each other. I think it’s necessary.
Last night, I laughed, cried and was blessed more than ever to be born a girl child.
