Residents in Benin City particularly Ikpoba Hill area continue to groan following hardship being experience as a result of the epileptic ongoing road construction and rehabilitation and it’s consequences.

Motorists and residents of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area in Benin City, Edo State, have raised concerns over the impact of ongoing road construction projects on adjoining streets within the community.

They acknowledge that the major roadworks promise long-term benefits, but say many smaller, connecting roads have been damaged, left inaccessible, or neglected during the process.

“The first thing the government should have done before commencing the flyover would have been to fix the alternative/adjoining streets”.

“Na everybody we dey beg governor on top this adjoining roads!!!!

“Projects that was not well planned what do you expect”

“It doesn’t cost much to do palliatives or construct adjoining roads within the Environs for easy traffic. I heard there is a road connecting Jamila to Guinness, that could have helped for easy flow of traffic in that area”.

“Na everybody we dey beg governor on top this adjoining roads!!!!

They appealed to the Edo State governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo and the contracting firm to speedy up the job especially now that the rains are gradually subsiding.
