Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has alerted members of the public to a fraudulent contact circulating online and falsely claiming to represent the airline’s mobile booking platforms.

The airline, in a statement issued on Wednesday by its spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, warned customers to be vigilant and avoid making payments to unauthorized accounts being promoted by fraudsters.

According to the statement, the scammers are providing fake account details to unsuspecting customers seeking to purchase flight tickets, with the intention of defrauding them.

Air Peace specifically identified the fraudulent account as “8112652829 (Bankit MFB, Air Peace),” stressing that it is not affiliated with the airline and should not be used for any ticket payment transactions.

The airline urged customers to verify all booking and payment information through its official channels before making any payments.

Air Peace also advised travellers to report suspicious contacts or booking platforms claiming to represent the airline in order to prevent further fraudulent activities.

The carrier reiterated its commitment to protecting customers and ensuring secure booking processes, while encouraging the public to remain alert to online scams and impersonation attempts.

The warning comes amid increasing cases of cyber fraud targeting air travellers and online consumers across the country.
