It was drumbeats of solidarity and unity on Thursday in Asaba, as the political support group, “APC Delta Mandate”, rose with one voice to pass a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The enlarged meeting, hosted by the member representing Isoko South II Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Dr) Ferguson Onwo, brought together APC leaders and faithful from the ward, local government and senatorial district levels across Delta State to the lawmaker’s official residence.
The motion for the confidence vote was moved by the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Dr) Emmanuel Okoro, seconded by the Host, Hon Onwo, and unanimously adopted through a voice vote conducted by the National President of Delta Mandate, Hon (Dr) Isaac Anwuzia.
Setting the tone before the resounding endorsement of the duo and support for all candidates of the APC, the National Chairman, Hon Isaac Anwuzia, charged members to take the message of support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori to every nook and cranny of Delta State.
“Our message is simple. one party, one mobilization, one objective: to deliver the APC across Delta State. We must remain united, committed and focused on ensuring the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the victory of all APC candidates in 2027”, Anwuzia declared.
He described Delta Mandate as a formidable political pressure group built to strengthen the APC and support the administrations of both Tinubu and Oborevwori, adding that victory in 2027 would open greater doors for appointments, empowerment and political advancement for loyal members.
The State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Areyenka, who was present, commended Delta Mandate for flying the flag of the party high.
“Your dedication to the party and your efforts in projecting the achievements of our leaders are commendable. I encourage you to sustain the momentum and work tirelessly for the victory of all APC candidates in the 2027 elections”, Areyenka stated.
Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and APC House of Reps candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, called for unity and forgiveness.
*“We are happy and grateful to the governor. He is a man we are proud of, and we are ready to tell the world that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a good product deserving the support of all Deltans”, Elumelu said.
A one time Deputy Speaker of Delta State Assembly and Delta Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon extolled the visionary and pragmatic leadership of Ahmed Bola Tinubu, saying that the President is building legacies for present and future generations.
Other chieftains who spoke, including Chief Lawrence Oshoegbu, Chief Patrick Ukah, Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, Chief (Mrs.) Rosaline Amioku and the Host, Hon. Ferguson Onwo, eulogized the landmark achievements of President Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations.
They urged members to deepen grassroots engagement and mobilization as well as create more opportunities for youth participation in the activities of Delta Mandate ahead of 2027.
The meeting ended on a high note with renewed chants of “APC! One Party! One Goal!” and the admission of new members, further expanding the group’s reach across all parts of the state.
