Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi, has denied claims that she was romantically involved with a cleric and has announced plans to pursue legal action over what she described as false and damaging allegations.
Anunobi was reacting to a viral audio recording in which Psalm Okpe, founder of Fresh Oil Ministry International Church, allegedly claimed that he had dated her for five years. Okpe is also the cleric who previously ordained Anunobi.
In a statement attributed to the actress, Anunobi firmly rejected the claim, stating that she has lived a celibate life for the past 14 years. She described the allegation as untrue and defamatory, adding that her legal team had been instructed to take appropriate action.
The controversy arose after an audio clip circulated widely on social media, purportedly featuring Okpe and another cleric identified as Martins, engaging in a private conversation. In the recording, the speakers made claims about past relationships involving Anunobi and another church leader, Chikere Nwafor.
The audio also contained additional allegations concerning a separate male pastor. These claims remain unverified, and no independent evidence has been presented to support them.
As of the time of this report, neither Okpe nor Martins has issued a formal public response addressing the content of the audio recording. Anunobi has maintained that the statements attributed to her in the clip are false and has reiterated her intention to seek redress through the courts.
The matter has continued to generate widespread discussion online, with calls from the public for caution, verification, and respect for personal dignity while the issues are addressed through lawful means.
