Auchi Polytechnic has officially opened its 2025 Annual Staff Art Exhibition, a vibrant showcase celebrating creativity, innovation, and sustainability within the School of Art and Industrial Design.
The exhibition was declared open by the Rector, Dr. S.S. Umar, alongside the Deputy Rector (Administration), Engr. Dr. Mrs. Edith Oyati.

This year’s exhibition, themed “Appropriation of Upcycled Materials in Contemporary Creative Processes,” highlights the institution’s commitment to promoting environmentally conscious art practices and cutting-edge creative exploration.
The event marks the culmination of an intensive two-week workshop held as part of the School’s Annual Conference and Workshop series.

Visitors to the gallery are treated to a diverse collection of works, including textiles, paintings, drawings, sculptures, and mixed-media pieces.

Dr. Umar expressed his admiration for the high quality and originality of the artworks, praising the staff and students for their exceptional craftsmanship and artistic vision.

He commended the Dean of the School, Dr. Mrs. Kukoyi Olajumoke, for the impressive achievements recorded by staff and students on both local and international art platforms. These accomplishments, he noted, further cement Auchi Polytechnic’s status as a leading centre of excellence in the creative arts sector.

Dr. Umar reaffirmed the institution’s resolve to continue supporting innovative artistic expression while sustaining its long-standing tradition of excellence.
