A Benin High Court has dissolved the 12-year marriage between journalist and media entrepreneur, Best Mbiere, popularly known as Best Orator, and her estranged husband, Michael Okechukwu Mbiere, citing an irretrievable breakdown of the union.
The court also granted custody of the couple’s three children to the petitioner.
In its ruling, the court further ordered the respondent to refund the sum of Twenty-One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira allegedly paid by the petitioner to offset debts connected to fraud allegations involving his former workplace.
The marriage, which lasted over a decade, was officially dissolved after the court held that the relationship had broken down beyond reconciliation.
