As Muslims across the globe mark the end of Ramadan with Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of States Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has called for compassion, unity, and a renewed focus on human development.

Felicitating with Muslims in Nigeria on the celebration, Rt Hon Guwor, who is the Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, said, “Eid-el-Fitr reminds us of the profound values of empathy, kindness, and generosity towards others.”

The Conference Chairman, in a statement made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, prayed that the spirit of Eid inspires compassion, understanding, and a more just and harmonious Nigeria.

He also prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the prayers and sacrifices of the faithful, forgives all shortcomings, and blesses the nation with enduring peace, progress, and prosperity.

“On behalf of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, I warmly felicitate with the Muslim Ummah across our dear country on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan,” Guwor said.

“As we celebrate, I urge all Nigerians, particularly our Muslim brothers and sisters, to sustain and reflect the virtues imbibed during Ramadan in our daily lives. Let us continue to promote peace, tolerance, and harmonious coexistence, which are essential for national development and stability,” he added.

The Conference Chairman and Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, enjoined Nigerians to remain steadfast in supporting democratic institutions and fostering unity across ethnic, religious, and political lines, at this critical period of the nation’s journey.

Stressing that together, the people can build a more prosperous, secure, and inclusive Nigeria, Rt Hon Guwor particularly urged Deltans never to lose focus in their unwavering support for the “Renewed Hope for More” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The Chairman reiterated the commitment of the State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria to promoting democratic values, sustainable peace, development, and good governance across the states of the federation.
