Chairman of the NUJ Delta State Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, described the workshop as timely, noting that the oil and gas industry remains critical to Nigeria’s economy and requires well-informed journalists capable of reporting its activities professionally.
Oyowe said the training would expose participants to the complexities of the sector while helping them improve the quality and depth of their reports.
“This workshop is a timely and strategic intervention to deepen our understanding of the oil and gas industry and strengthen our capacity as journalists. It is important that those reporting such a critical sector have the knowledge and professional competence to provide the public with accurate, balanced and responsible information,” he said.
