Chief Krees Njiokwuemeni Pays Homage To Issele-Uku Monarch, As Community Celebrates Ine-Aho Festival

The people of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, has celebrated their rich cultural heritage  called,  “the Ine-Aho festival”.

 

The festival marks the new yam harvest, the beginning of a new traditional calendar, and the reaffirmation of the kingdom’s unity, heritage, and connection to its past.

 

The celebration involved cultural exhibitions, traditional music, and the Obi participating in various ceremonies with his chiefs paying traditional homage to him.

The former Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Krees Njiokwuemeni, a renowned politician, was among the ranking chiefs who paid homage to His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Nduka, JP, MNSE, Obi of Issele-Uku.

 

Chief Njiokwuemeni, who is the Isama of Oligbo Kingdom, was accompanied to the festival by family members, political associates, friends, and well-wishers.

 

In an interview, Chief Njiokwuemeni described the festival as a celebration and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the people of Oligbo Kingdom.

He paid a glowing tribute to the traditional ruler of Issele-Uku, His Royal Majesty Agbogidi Obi Nduka, saying that he remains an embodiment of wisdom, culture and tradition as well as a gift to the people of Issele-Uku. Chief Njiokwuemeni noted that Issele-Uku has continued to witness unprecedented peace, prosperity, and progress under the reign of His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Nduka.

 

He said the festival gave him and other chiefs the honour and privilege of reaffirming their loyalty and commitment to the king and the Kingdom of Issele-Uku, even as he prayed for the king’s continued blessings and peaceful reign.
