Journalists covering the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) have congratulated the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, on his emergence as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria.
In a statement issued in Asaba, the correspondents described his emergence as a testament to his leadership capacity and longstanding commitment to legislative service.
The statement, made available by the leader of the group and Pointer correspondent at the State Assembly, Mr. Andrew Ikehi, noted that the Speaker’s election did not come as a surprise to members of the press corps.
According to Ikehi, Guwor has consistently demonstrated uncommon leadership qualities and a humane disposition in the discharge of his responsibilities, as well as in his relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
“Our dear Speaker; the Speaking Speaker, we gladly rejoice with you over your emergence as Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria,” the statement read in part.
“The news, no doubt, didn’t come to us as a surprise. This is so because your leadership qualities are second to none.
“You are indeed a proverbial golden fish that has no hiding place. Your works speak for you, just as your uncompromised benevolence will continue to pave the way for you.
“Like every other Deltan, we rejoice with you as you have once again brought honour not only to the State House of Assembly, but to the entire Delta State.
“Congratulations, our Honourable Speaker and friend of the media. We are indeed proud of you.”
The Assembly correspondents also prayed for divine wisdom and guidance for Guwor as he pilots the affairs of the Conference over the next two years, wishing him a successful tenure in office.
