Senator Ned Nwoko, the lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in the district were manipulated, insisting that he won the exercise conducted across the 98 wards.
Speaking during an interview on ARISE News, Nwoko claimed he possesses ward-by-ward video evidence to support his victory and plans to submit the materials to the party leadership.
According to the senator, the process initially appeared transparent until midway through the exercise when his camp was informed that results would no longer be announced at the ward level but instead collated and declared at the national level.
“We assumed the party would follow due process,” Nwoko said. “Instead, we were suddenly presented with a result from a single ward closely connected to the former governor, and that result was used as the basis for declaring the winner.”
He further alleged that the Governor of Delta State acted in collaboration with former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to influence the outcome of the primaries.
Nwoko maintained that the process did not reflect the true outcome of the election and vowed to challenge the result through the appropriate party channels.
