ABUJA — Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assenting to legislation establishing the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, and the Federal Medical Centre, Oleh, in Delta South.
The senator made the remarks during a visit to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he accompanied the President of the Senate and Chairman of the National Assembly, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON.
According to Senator Joel-Onowakpo, the President’s assent to the two landmark institutions represents a significant milestone for the people of Delta South and will contribute to the development of education, healthcare and human capital in the senatorial district.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support and commitment to initiatives aimed at advancing the interests of the people of Delta South.
The senator also commended Senate President Akpabio for his continued support and cooperation throughout the 10th National Assembly, noting that such support has strengthened his ability to effectively represent his constituents.
“God bless Mr. President and God bless the uncommon President of the Senate for all the support they have given to me as the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly,” Senator Joel-Onowakpo said.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence.
