Delta SUBEB Launches Statewide Distribution of HDF Furniture in Basic Schools

The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has commenced the distribution of 1,000 units of two‑seater furniture to selected basic public schools across the state.

 

The furniture made of High‑Density Fiberboard, HDF specifications, is part of ongoing efforts by the Oborevwori’s led administration to improve learning environments and provide pupils and students with safe, comfortable and well‑equipped classrooms.

 

Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Delta State, Hon Samuel Mariere, said the furniture is being sent to schools identified as most in need, following a statewide assessment of classroom infrastructure carried out by the board.

 

Hon Mariere explained that the exercise reflects Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to raising the standard of basic education in the state and ensuring that every child learns in a conducive setting.

 

The SUBEB Boss who expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for progress made thus far in that regard, reaffirmed that more schools will benefit from subsequent phases of the furniture development programme.

 

Hon Mariere, a two termed member of the Delta State Assembly and former Commissioner for Water Resources Development, emphasized that SUBEB remains committed to strengthening basic‑education infrastructure and improving teaching and learning in schools across the state.

 

The 12 benefiting Schools and allocated number of the HDF Furniture, include, 100 units each to Erovwaremi Primary School, Erovwaremi, Eghreka Primary School, Ewu and Edjephew Primary School, Edjephew, all in Ughelli South, 50 units to Olodiama Primary School, Olodiama, also in Ughelli South, 100 units to Aganbi Primary School, Eku and 50 units to Erho Junior Secondary School, Abraka, both in Ethiope East local government area.

 

Others include Ufuoma Junior Secondary School, Ufuoma, Ughelli North, 100 units, Amadaja Primary School, Amadaja, Udu, 100 units, Urhobo College, Effurun, Uvwie, 100 units, Owholemu Primary School, Olomoro, Isoko South, 100 units, Ohe Primary School, Ugbodu, Aniocha North, 50 units and Adane-Okpe Primary School, Orerokpe, Okpe local government area, 50 units, bringing the total number of the HDF two‑seater furniture to 1,000 units.

 

The elated Students at Urhobo College, Effurun, who were among the first to receive the new furniture, paid glowing praise to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Subeb for the intervention.

 

They said the new furniture have already lifted the learning atmosphere, describing the gesture as a clear demonstration of government’s dedication to welfare of pupils and students as well as the advancement of basic education across Delta State.
