Edo State House of Assembly has passed the 2025 approved supplementary appropriation Bill of Seven hundred and ninety nine billion, eight hundred and twenty million, fifty eight thousand, eight hundred and fifty eight naira, fifty two kobo. (N799,820,058,858,52 kobo).
The speaker, Rt. Hon. Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, who presided over the committee of supply to consider the Bill, thanked his colleagues for their commitment to the consideration of the Bill, which he explained would help fast-track the ongoing infrastructural projects of the State government.
According to the Members who spoke on the Supplementary Bill that has #563,394, 895,205.50( Five hundred and sixty three billion, three hundred and ninety four million, eight hundred and ninety five thousand, two hundred and five naira and fifty kobo ), as capital expenditure, and #236,425,163,653.02(Two hundred and thirty six billion, four hundred and twenty five million, one hundred and sixty three thousand, six hundred and fifty three naira and two kobo) as recurrent expenditure, they described it as a welcome development that would ensure the continuation and completion of Ramat park Fly-over, construction of Adesuwa Fly-over, as well as road projects and drainages in the State.
Other members also expressed hope for the proper utilization of the funds allotted and for prompt implementation, especially in areas of road construction and rehabilitation, as the rainy season is coming to an end.
After section-by-section consideration of the Estimates, the Bill was passed with the Speaker directing the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Yahaya Audu Omogbai, to make clean copies of the passed bill available to the State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his assent.
Also today, the House confirmed Nominees earlier sent by the Governor after screening by the House standing committee on Rules Business and Government House, those cleared include the Lottery Regulations Commission, to be chaired by Rt.Hon. Frank Okiye while members are Mr Elvis Uwadia and Habiba Yakubu.
