Edo Cleric, Pastor Stephen Idahosa, Dies at 87

The Idahosa and Odia families of Idun-Ewaen in Oghada Village, Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State, have announced the death of renowned cleric, Pastor Stephen Ekhuemuenogiemwen Idahosa, who passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 87.

In a statement signed by Mr. Solomon E. Idahosa on behalf of the family, the late pastor was described as a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and community elder whose life was marked by faith, service, and dedication to humanity.

Pastor Idahosa is survived by his wife, Mrs. Victoria V. Idahosa, eight children, and many grandchildren.

His children include:

Mr. Solomon Ehiozomwangie Idahosa

Mr. Stephen Edebiri Idahosa

Barr. Moses Idahosa Osatohanmwen

Mrs. Adesuwa Chukwumezle Oblora (née Idahosa)

Mr. David Jesurobo Idahosa

Mr. Jude Osariyekemwen Idahosa

Mr. Daniel Ekhuemuenogiemwen Idahosa

Barr. Victoria Edoghogho Idahosa

The family also released details of burial arrangements scheduled to take place in Benin City.

According to the statement, a Service of Songs will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the late pastor’s residence located at No. 114, 1st Oromiyan Street, off Igbinaduwa Street, via Ogida–Siluko Road, Benin City.

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, by 9:00 a.m., the body will depart Time Mortuary, Upper Ekehuan Road, near God’s Intercessory Church of God, to the family residence for lying-in-state, followed by interment.

A Thanksgiving Service will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Deeper Life Bible Church, Omosigho Street Branch, off Umamwen Street, Ogida Quarters, Benin City.

The family prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul, describing him as a man who lived a fulfilled life of faith and service.
