The Edo State Government’s decision to embark on the construction of another flyover at the Adesuwa/Sapele Road junction in Benin City has continued to draw commendations from residents and commuters who see it as a step toward decongesting one of the city’s busiest intersections.

However, as work begins, there are growing calls for the government to extend construction efforts to adjoining and alternative roads within the area to ease traffic flow that usually accompanies such large-scale projects.

They appealed to the State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo to fast track repairs of adjoining roads early enough so that according to them, “commuters and motorists will not continue to suffer in the name of flyover construction”.

Others wished that the right step of adjoining roads repairs and construction were taken ever before the proget started.
