Educational researcher and academic mentor Fabiyi Sunday Christian has announced the release of his latest book, The Science of Reading and Learning Styles, a practical guide designed to help university students improve their academic performance by understanding how they learn best.
Published by Glit Publishers, the book explores the role of individual learning styles in higher education and presents evidence-based strategies for effective studying, note-taking, examination preparation, and collaborative learning. According to the author, the publication aims to help students enhance understanding, retention, and overall academic achievement by aligning study methods with their preferred learning approaches.
Drawing from his background in educational psychology, counselling, and educational research, Fabiyi examines the relationship between learning styles and student engagement, retention, and success. He also offers practical techniques for overcoming common learning barriers while encouraging a more student-centred and inclusive approach to education.
The book features a foreword by Peter O. Oyewole, a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Kent State University, Ohio, USA. In his remarks, Oyewole describes the publication as a timely contribution to education, noting that many students struggle academically not because of a lack of intelligence but because they have not been equipped with effective learning strategies.
He praised the author for presenting practical guidance on reading, memory improvement, collaborative learning, and self-reflection, adding that the book inspires learners to embrace continuous growth and lifelong learning.
Fabiyi, who has worked extensively in teaching and academic mentoring, said his passion is to improve learning outcomes by helping students identify and apply strategies that match their unique learning needs.
The Science of Reading and Learning Styles is now available through Glit Publishers and carries the ISBN 978-978-629504-6.
