Immediate Past Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Oghenedoro Owoso, has continued consultations ahead of the Delta State House of Assembly primaries with a visit to High Chief Williams I.I. Makinde at his country home in Oghareki, Oghara.
Owoso, who was accompanied by members of his entourage, said the visit was aimed at seeking the blessings, support, and fatherly guidance of the respected community leader ahead of the primaries scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, for the Ethiope West State Assembly seat.
The meeting was described as warm and interactive, featuring cordial discussions and the presentation of kola nuts to the visitors in line with tradition and hospitality.
During the visit, Chief Fidelis Agbakoko offered prayers for High Chief Makinde, asking God to continue granting him wisdom as he mentors younger leaders in entrepreneurship and what he described as “Polipreneur leadership.”
In a light-hearted moment during the gathering, High Chief Makinde jokingly asked whether the consultation was a “marital visit,” drawing laughter from those present.
Responding to Owoso’s request for support, High Chief Makinde expressed confidence in the former council chairman’s leadership abilities, noting that the same grace that enabled him to serve successfully as Local Government Chairman would continue to guide him.
He advised Owoso to remain humble and committed to prioritising the interests of Ethiope West people if elected into the Delta State House of Assembly.
Makinde also encouraged him to keep faith in God ahead of the primaries.
Among those present during the visit were Chief Fidelis Agbakoko, Chief Augustine Erhifofo, Hon. Elvis Atavwor, Comrade Ogheneochuko Godstime, Comrade Efe Oke, Pastor Solomon Ukueni, Madam Beatrice Amagiya, Mr. Shallow Emokiniovo, and Mr. Kparobo, Personal Assistant to Hon. Owoso.
