The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has lifted the three-month suspension earlier imposed on the Education Secretary of Oshimili South Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Mrs. Appolonia Allanah Oputa-Otutu.
The decision, which takes effect from March 1, 2026, was announced in an official statement signed by the Executive Chairman of Delta SUBEB, Hon. Chief Samuel Mariere.
According to Mariere, the Board reviewed appeals from key stakeholders across the state before arriving at the decision to reinstate Mrs. Oputa-Otutu.
“The three-month suspension slammed on the Education Secretary for Oshimili South LGEA, Mrs. Appolonia Allanah Oputa-Otutu, has been lifted with effect from March 1, 2026,” the statement read.
Mariere explained that the action followed “thoughtful consideration of all appeals from important personalities from across the state.”
He added that with the lifting of the suspension, Mrs. Oputa-Otutu is to resume her duties immediately from the approved date, with all rights and privileges attached to her office fully restored.
“All rights and privileges attached to the office are by this announcement restored in full from the said date,” the SUBEB Chairman stated.

Mrs. Oputa-Otutu is expected to resume full administrative oversight of education affairs in the local government area following her reinstatement.
